Car Control School

This course teaches you to be a much safer, more confident driver.
In-class instruction emphasises driver control, collision avoidance, and driver psychology as well as tips about:

  • Adjusting your seat correctly
  • Appropriate use of controls
  • Positioning mirrors to eliminate blind spots
  • Vision training and processing information
  • How safety features, such as ABS, really work

In-car instruction includes the following exercises:

Exercise

Goal

Acquire the art of maximum braking without locking the wheels or losing control.
Drivers with ABS equipped cars experience the noise and pedal-kickback the system produces.

Collision Avoidance

Avoid obstacles and eliminate your chance of a collision!
Designed to simulate a sudden obstacle in your path, this exercise teaches you to brake and steer into a narrow escape lane while maintaining control of your vehicle.

Slalom

Develop smooth, precise steering techniques while honing your reaction time. Learn the proper turn-in and unwind without the danger of over correcting.

Emergency Lane Change

Maintain complete control while manoeuvring into the next lane and back.
The lane change shows you how to manage unpredictable situations in multi-lane environments.

Skid Pad

Recognize and correct understeer (front wheel skid) and oversteer (rear wheel skid), then learn how to avoid it.

Corporate Days ILR Car Control School offers Corporate days for large groups. We can accommodate up to 25 participants per session including classroom and driving exercises. Your employees will learn techniques to remain safe on our roads through the course of their occupational travels.
